X30 LCD Problem

#1 Post by tical164 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 2:38 am

I have an X30 2672-12U. The problem with the LCD is that the bottom third does not display. It is all blurred out. Does anyone know what the possible cause of this is? It works perfectly with an external monitor.

I would say a broken LCD cable or something in that area.
Easy and cheap to replace! :)

And if replacing the video cable does not help, then it's a difficult or expensive fix to consider (the LCD itself or the motherboard may be the source of the problem).

However, before you even replace the video cable, open up the system, locate both ends of the video cable and re-seat them into their respective connectors. It may just be a bad connection which is giving you the display problem. If that doesn't fix the issue, then at least you have had some practice in taking the system apart and putting it back together. You can then locate a known working cable and swap it.

Use the directions in the Hardware Maintenance Manual to disassembly the system:
