No Wireless Adapter found after Recovery

#1 Post by phillyd2 » Fri Aug 10, 2007 8:23 am

I just did a complete Recovery from CD (P/N 24R3274) on my X31 - 2884JGU and all seemed to be ok except that the installed LEE 802.11A/B WIRELESS MINI-PCI CARD is now not being recognized. Worked without issue right before the recovery.

Fn F5 only shows Bluetooth. Device Manager sees a unknown Ethernet Controller under Other Devices (big yellow ?). The installed Intel Pro/1000 MT Mobile Connection as well as the 1394 Net Adapter show up ok under Network Adaptors in the Device Manager.

In Control Panel / Network Connections all that is shown is the Intel Pro/1000 MT Mobile Connection and the 1394 Net Adapter but NO wireless adaptor.

Using a different computer I downloaded a few different Wireless drivers but LEE 802.11A/B WIRELESS MINI-PCI CARD was NOT on the list of available drivers. None of the drivers worked. I also downloaded the latest Access Connection but still nothing.

Any thoughts?

Assuming that your X31 hasn't had a different card put in it, the correct driver should be this one:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67214

It maybe that you have already tried it :?:

I searched on the FRU number for your card and after a while came up with the above driver for "802.11bg and 802.11abg wireless LAN Mini PCI adapter"
although your card should be as you say only "ab"
