Will an X2* LCD fit an X31?

#1 Post by tomh009 » Mon Aug 13, 2007 8:41 pm

I'm thinking of replacing the LCD in my X31 as the old one is scratched from keys and the TrackPoint, and have been looking for an inexpensive replacement. I have found one for an X24, and I vaguely recall that it might be compatible.

Can anyone confirm/deny that an X24 panel will/will not work in an X31?

no, don't think so. The plugs and inverter are different

I've been looking at the HMMs for each system and it appears that Quattro is correct. The line drawings are no substitute for a good picture, but the connectors and maybe even the location of it at the end of the ribbon cable says that you can't plug an X22/X23/X24 panel into the X31.

edit: Trying to hunt down some pictures on both type of cables... Okay, the best ones that I can find at the moment (which isn't saying much) are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0153628025 (X23/X23/X24)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0080862772 (X31)

From what I can see of the connectors which apparently go into the back of the LCD panel, they look similar enough to each other but that's no guarantee of compatibility.
