x41 tablet processor speed (ghz)

#1 Post by co1063 » Thu Aug 16, 2007 2:24 pm

Are there two types of processors available with the x41 tablet? I've heard a lot of people have a 1.5ghz clock speed, but on my tablet, the bios and sys info shows a 1.6ghz clock speed. Do I have a different type of processor? Could it be the centrino? Or do all x41 tablets have the same type of processor?

Short answer is yes. There are three types of processors:

Intel Pentium M Low Voltage 758 (1.5GHz)
Intel Pentium M Low Voltage 778 (1.6GHz)
Intel Pentium M Ultra Low Voltage 753 (1.2GHz)

I think they are all Centrino.

I had the following until a couple of months ago:

{
Product: ThinkPad X41 Tablet 1866-5GU

Original description: P M 758(1.5GHz)LV, 512MB RAM, 40GB 4200rpm HDD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 900, Intel 802.11bg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, 8 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Tablet 2005
}

And I currently have the following:

{
Product: ThinkPad X41 Tablet 1866-AL7

Original description: Based on 1866-9GU: P M 778(1.6GHz)LV, 1GB RAM, 40GB 4200rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 900, Intel 802.11bg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, 8c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Tablet 2005
}

I hope this helps.

Thanks, that answered my question. So I guess I have the 778 Centrino.
