Battery MaxiMiser Wizard not working on X31

#1 Post by Jason404 » Tue Aug 21, 2007 7:16 pm

I have the latest Battery MaxiMiser Wizard (v1.38) installed on my X31, but it is not working.

But, on bootup, I get a popup dialogue saying that it is not supported on my machine. Also, the green bar indicator in the Task Bar does not appear.

I can make profiles, and I can select them in the system tray, but I think that the icon maybe the standard Windows Power Meter.

It works fine on my X30, but I will have to check what version I have on that one.

So, how come I am having problems running v1.38 on my X31? Could it be because of my battery? The battery is a Panasonic that I believe came with machine when it was brand-new.

Did you install the ACPI Power Management?

Is that a Thinkpad download? If it is, I don't think so. Where can that be found?

It has got the ACPI Hardware Extraction Layer, as shown in Device in Manager, under Computer.

This page has all of the drivers and software for the X30 though the X32:

(Edit: Can't get the link to work! If you search under "ThinkPad X31 drivers" at lenovo.com, you will find the driver page listed.)

I would try reinstalling the ACPI Power Management driver first, then reinstalling the Battery MaxiMiser software and running it.

Here you go...

Drivers and software - ThinkPad X30, X31, X32

You can also use Software Installer to get all the updates.
Software Installer for Windows 2000/XP

If you prefer System Update, it is on a link at the top of the first page. (To date, many of us still prefer Software Installer to System Update.)

Thanks, 'Jabbar. I agree - I much prefer System Installer to System Update, as the latter gave me a very hard time trying to update my X23 with Windows 2000.
