No need for IBM SDIO driver anymore?

#1 Post by chintapun » Fri Oct 29, 2004 1:37 pm

I did fresh install windows xp pro SP2 on my x40 and found that we longer need SDIO anymore. SP2 seems to recognised it autmatically. But I haven't yet test it. Will report later on after I can find sdio device to test it on.

Did you get a new installation CD from IBM with SP2 or did you overwrite the whole HD?

I did use I380 folder which was preinstalled on X40. I did slipstreme with SP2 using the method describe in this forum. After installation, I found that SD card is now recognised automaticly. That's why I was curious about the IBM SD Driver.

As I previously stated - the "IBM" SD driver was actually the M$oft driver... that is why IBM could not post it on their site for download and why it is now in SP2....

Do you mean SDIO as in Input/Output that would work with say an SDIO GPS? First time I hear of a laptop/PC was that type of capability!
