Sluggish response after Suspend on X31

#1 Post by DaveBovey » Wed Aug 29, 2007 10:52 am

When I bring my Thinkpad X31 out of suspend mode, it is very sluggish for almost a minute. When typing, the response is approximately one letter per second--very annoying. I tried using Windows Task Manager to see if any programs were using resources during the sluggishness, but Task Manager itself is frozen until after the sluggishness ends. Any ideas how I can diagnose the problem? By the way, I'm running Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2.

Try leaving Task Manager open when you enter Suspend.

Also look in Event Viewer for events occurring when resuming. Start > Contol Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.

If I had to guess, I would suspect the delay is caused by your computer is trying to establish a network connection. Could be wrong though...
