Need advice fast please

Ok..so I bought this X22 a week or so ago, and the battery was not holding any charge...so I bought one from Ebay that is supposed to have a warranty for a short time...when I got it today and put it in it does nothing...the orange light glows and stays on..when I put MY battery in it will say it is charged, but it isn't really...the NEW one....just shows the battery symbol with the slash across it in Windows power options.
So my question is...is it possible or even likely that my laptop is not capable of charging...or is more likely that the NEW battery is no good.

Is the 2nd battery an authentic IBM one or 3rd party?

DO you know anyone else who owns another X2x machine? You can try putting these batteries in another machine ... that will tell you if the problem is with the batteries.

Sir please install:

ThinkPad Power Management driver

and

Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management

and report back what it states about the battery in Battery Information > Battery Details.

FWIW, authentic IBM batteries used to come with IBM logo that looked something like this.

My brand new IBM battery (October 2006) did come with the IBM logo as pictured.

Sir, they used to as I mentioned in my post. New ones for newer machines come with lenovo logo.
