IBM Software Qs

#1 Post by gregk » Fri Oct 29, 2004 7:12 pm

Hi guys,

I am both a new ThinkPad owner and a new PC user and I have a couple of software questions...

It seems IBM installs a lot of apps that replicate WinXP functionality, could you all give me some recomendations on which ones I can safely get rid of?

During my trials and tribulations with a dead wireless card (noted in another post), I got rid of "Access Connections" as it offers a lot of stuff I don't need. That being said, I totally want to keep the Fn+F5 functionality for turning off my wireless options... is there any way to do this?

Finally, what is a good source for batteries? My referb unit came with an 8 cell, but it is a bit big for my needs.

Thanks!

Greg

Hey Greg

Welcome and congrats on the new Thinkpad.

I think the only things I disabled were the IBM message centre and EzEjMnAp.exe. Oh, and windows messenger as well.
