22" External Monitor on X31

#1 Post by wayandrs » Tue Sep 11, 2007 1:40 pm

Can my x31 drive a 22" external monitor at 1680x1050? If so, does it put a lot of strain on the graphics card?

I bought one locally and hooked it up, works perfectly. Now question is... is there any reeeally good excuse to upgrade to an X61s?

The quality of analog VGA output is not good. The picture will be blurry with ghostings at such resolution.

Not if the monitor has a good-quality VGA input and a decent cable. My Dell 2001FP is sharp and without ghosting, and at a higher 1600x1200 resolution -- with both X31 and X61.

Echo that ...

just picked up a 22" Acer, and the 1680x1050 native res of the monitor is clear as a bell when my X31 is driving it. Wonderful little laptop, that. :)
