X3 problem related to external keyboard

#1 Post by mazzinia » Wed Sep 12, 2007 7:40 pm

I've an X31 with the ultrabase... some hours ago I've for the first time needed to connect a keyboard to the backside ps2 port of the ultrabase.

The result has been the notebook frozen to the bios screen (press "blue" botton to access ... point), and I've tried to restart it 2 times but the result has been always the same.

The keyboard works, since I'm using it everyday...

Any idea? Does it mean I've a faulty ultrabase?

I believe you need a PS/2 keyboard/mouse splitter cable. You cannot plug the keyboard directly into the PS/2 port - it is designed for a mouse.
