x22 restore partition

#1 Post by tony6264 » Mon Oct 01, 2007 3:52 pm

I am thinking of running the restore partition option on my x22...I have never done this...sooooo....my question is...does it include all drivers and utilities? or do I then have to go and download all of the add on's?...things like thinkpad utilities, trackpoint drivers, etc.

Includes everything, however once restored to original factory state, you might need to update them.

Interesting. Have ThinkPads always had recovery partitions?

No.

IBM started including the service partition (with partition based recovery method) in 2001-2002. Later on in 2003 HPA based efficient recovery solution with previous and more added features was introduced. Today most new thinkpads do not come with HPA, it has been replaced by Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery.

You can find some related information on this page.
