Wireless and Battery life

#1 Post by ErikD » Sat Oct 20, 2007 12:38 pm

I have been using an X40 with internal WiFi card and Verizon Wireless PCMCIA card for a while now as my work laptop. I also went with the standard 4 cell battery as I want something as light and small as possible. Besides generally speaking I am never working away from a charger for long. I just run between different offices a lot.

What just popped into my mind today was how to best conserve battery power with the internal wireless card. I had been just disabling it when I didn't need it. But does using the Fn + F5 to power off the radio save more power? Doing both? I will experiment a bit myslef, but was wondering if anybody else had any thoughts on this.
