dear members of the support community,

albeit it is my first post here, and I wish I could have already proven useful to any of you through writing at least a single piece of advice myself, I cannot help asking you for help. I have just bought a used x40 model, but, unfortunately, there was no support cd/dvd with Win XP OEM. Could anyone please share it? Thanks a lot.

I have an x40 (private) and an x60s (work). Using Acronis True Image I created an image of the x60s hidden rescue partition and unpacked all files to the desktop. Just as I assumed, among the numerous files I found in there there was an achive with Win XP installation folder. Unfortunately, it would not unpack as the archive turned out to be password protected. I tried using the password provided in the accompanying script file, but it would not work.

My idea is that it could be possible to make an ISO image from another Win XP installation disk and substitute the files in the i386 with the ones contained in the archive extracted from the hidden partition. However, I remain uncertain whether that version of the installation would suit my x40. Could anyone comment on this? And yes, do you have any idea how I could eventually unpack that archive (in 3 parts, in fact)?

Thank you.

please feel free to PM me as well if you need these disks, I cannot promise it would be the fastest solution, yet I would try to do my best and be just as benevolent as other members of this forum))) It's a pleasure.
