do X21's not having any cooling fans?

yeah i know crap question, but my X21 is constantly hot according to mobilemeter and has locked up a few times now. :(

ive never heard a fan start up or anything.

what options do i have for this overheating X21?

Yes, the X21 has a cooling fan. Sounds like your's has died.

Try testing it under PC-DR for Windows or DOS.

now that im in a quiet room, i can hear the fan. really quiet compared to a old toshiba 7220 i used to have, so much so i didnt even notice it was on!

however the high temps (50C+) are a bit worrying especially when my T40 peaks at about 35C in the same room. :/

will have to source a floppy drive from work for my X21 to install the pc doctor suggested, as for some reason my USB floppy doesnt work.
