IrDa + x31 fixation

#1 Post by jrhuggins » Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:50 pm

Anyone gone through the IrDa mill? I cannot get mine to work and my obsession to fix it is driving the wife crazy (So what if your infrared doesn't work - why do you need it?).

Windows says the device is working OK, although the driver is 2001 but says it cannot find a better one. The BIOS is enabled with default settings Base I/O add 2f8 - Interrupt IRQ3 - DMA 3. Xp SP2 has the infrared monitor on automatic and started. I have scoured the Levoco website - zilch.

I can live without it but every now and again - well every time the wife is not on the case - I go through the permutations again. Any IrDa shrinks out there?

Cheers

I have an X31 that I sometimes use with an IrDa SiPix thermal printer.

I had no trouble installing the printer drivers, and the printer was recognized immediately via the IrDa port. This very compact printer runs on batteries, so it makes a great solution for printing in the field.

What are you trying to attach (or use) with the IrDa port?

Thanks. I posted before I did a search on the site. There is already quite a lot of users who've suffered the same glitch and there is an extensive thread. It is obviously a conflict with XP SP2.

It looks like you had an easy ride.

I cannot even get a cordless minimouse to work - the other device I have tried is a TV remote. This afternoon I nearly installed a small portable infrared scanner that I have but I decided to wait to the post. There must be an easier solution than some of those trailed in the above thread.
