Smallest power adapter for X21

#1 Post by Terrahawk » Thu Dec 13, 2007 8:57 pm

Hi everyone,

What is the physically smallest AC power adapter you can get for the X21? I am using a standard 72W unit at the moment and it's getting quite crowded in the little bag I have for it (once I include PCMCIA cards and USB drives).

I bought a cheap IBM 12J1444 2.2A 16V supply but it's too weak to run the X21 *and* charge the battery. It can do either one of the two quite happily though. It was a bit of a gamble, buying that :)

I had a 56 Watt supply that was small, light, and came as standard equipment with an X22, so that one might work fine (so long as the X21 doesn't draw any more power than an X22). ... JDH

The Lenovo Outlet Store has the 56 watt for $8.16 with free shipping. I picked up one to use with a Toughbook cf-18. Its a nice small ac-adapter.

Caution..... I just ordered the $8 Lenova adapter and they shipped it UPS with IN PERSON SIGNATURE required. UPS left the tag on my door and I signed it but the "in person" part is circled. Let's see if they leave it anyway. Next attempt is today.

How dumb for an $8 part.

EDIT:

UPS just showed up and as luck would have it he was late and I happened to be home. He confirmed that he would not have been able to leave it without an in person signature. I could NOT have signed the door tag. How dumb.
