buying thinkpad x31 for my mom

my mom needs a tiny computer to browser the web and read e-book, i saw one X31 on sale, is it good price?

the guy asked $450

Having bought and sold a few X31's over the past year, I think this price is a bit high. I sold one about 10 months ago, was identical specs, excellent condition, for $400 on ebay, and sold one on this board about 6 months ago for $445 that I included a port replicator and some other upgrades, can't remember now exactly what (see this link http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=).

I would think you should be able to find a 1.4gHz these days for under $400.

Don't pay more than $350 shipped. I got mine 6 months back for around that.

for $400 you can get like new X40 with X-Base, like one I just sold.

The price is too high man, I got both my X31's with docks, same specs for $350-400 off ebay.

same specs ,without dock for 3000 RMB in china , about $375.

usually, the price in china is a little higher than here
