X3 Ultrabase Problem - Wont recognize 2nd HDD . . .

Sometimes it recognizes my second hard drive, sometimes it doesn't. I have the Ultrabay adapter plugged into my X32's media slice. The adapter itself is from China. Do you think it could be faulty?

The activity light itself comes on and the laptop knows the Ultrabase is there. What do you think the problem is?
