Power Manager disappeared *lil' pic*

#1 Post by Deckard » Sun Jan 27, 2008 1:56 pm

Hello,

after upgrading from 1.41 to 1.43, my Power Manager application is gone :? (since installing the newer one required removing the old version, I can't roll back, because I don't have it anymore)

I am talking about this

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... r-mngr.jpg

I don't have this thing anymore.

Also, the battery charge progress bar used to sit on the toolbar, it's gone too:

I have checked the Add/Remove Programs to see if it was really installed, yes, the Power Management Driver 1.43 is there.

I also checked the Thinkvantage and Access IBM menus on the Start Menu. Nothing there.

What am I doing wrong?

You need the power manager -driver- which you said is already there. You also need the power manager -program- which should also show up as a separate item in Add/Remove. Have you downloaded that yet? After downloading the program from the Lenovo site, you double click it and it will be auto-installed to C:\Drivers.

Then...you go to that app in Drivers and run the install (setup.exe) program to enable the final program installation.

Hey mgo!

thanks for the quick reply.

Um, on the X31 drivers page, the Power Manager software is unfortunately not listed for the X31 anymore (I know it used to be). A version for the X32 is available though. I am not sure if it would work on the X31 as well :?

Hmm, any idea where to get that from?

The X32 program might work. Or, perhaps you could post a helpme request on this forum and some charitable person would email the application to you from their own machine.

Thanks for the advice. I just went and installed the one for the X32 and it's working like a charm.

Thanks a lot!
