reformat x22

#1 Post by CC » Thu Feb 14, 2008 9:20 pm

I wanted to reformat my very old x22 for my children's use but forgot the entry password. IBM technical helpline refused to help me as it is way passed warranty period.

Can someone tell me which key should i enter when rebooting?

Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum.....

Well CC it is a rule that password bypassing on this forum is a no no. I would suggest to try your best to remember what it was and keep trying.

I have since brought down to IBM service ctr to get it checked. They said the pw was attached to motherboard, so if i really can't remember it, then the notebook is as good as gone.

Understood. It's policy, I'm very sorry. You can replace it with a second hand system board. That's the best and only answer I can give. I've seen several IBM system board vendor's on Ebay from Singapore so I know that if there's a will, there is a way........

Good luck.
