X31 Game List

#1 Post by leesiulung » Wed Dec 01, 2004 4:46 am

Well, I noticed that jun412 started a topic for playable games on the X40 and thought... what the heck... why not start one for X31 too.

Following games works for me:

Starcraft
Warcraft 3

;)

I've been able to play half life at 1024x768 on it quite nicely, with the CPU limited to 600mhz too. Just need to set it to openGL instead of directx and it plays nicely.

But really, the video card in the X31 (underclocked mobility radeon) is worse than almost every card for playing games on partly because of the extremely slow core/memory (150/120 or something) and the memory limitations. The only reason IBM added it was to increase scores in some content creation benchmark (not that I'm complaining, I prefer proper graphics over integrated ones).

This may be off-track but would you expect my recent X31 purchase to run better than my desktop (Dual-PIII 1GHz, 1Gb ram, GeForce GTS with 32Mb vram)? The X31's cpu, bus and ram are obviously faster than my dual setup but its gpu and vram may lose out.

Recently tried C&C Renegade and it works flawlessly. Don't remember the settings though.

Just tried Counter Strike: Condition Zero and it works great... but not at exactly stunning settings.
