x40: 1920*1200. Possible?

#1 Post by taz123456 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:06 am

Hey everyone.
I Have a X40 which i would love to connect to my sony 24" using the portreplicator(VGA). Using the normal drivers, the max resolution is 1600*1200. I have downloaded some developmentdrivers, which allows for 1920*1200. But every time i undock the laptop, it is not possible to get the picture on the internal screen.

I know that the chipset is capable of running 1920*19200, but the problem is due to some limitations of IBM´s software?

Does anybody have a solution?
Thanks

On Linux, 1920x1200 is supported right out of the box. I tested it with Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 6. Ubuntu seems a bit too slow for x40. I just don't understand why the Windows driver won't support 1920x1200.
