x41 tablet wireless issue

Hi, need some help figuring out the issue on my thinkpad.

I just got this from a friend who hasn't used it in a year but said it was working fine. He had a linksys PC card that he was using because he didn't realize it had a intel 2915abg inside. Well, I tried getting the wireless card to work with no luck. Updated everything through Lenovo System update and windows update. In my device manager there is an unknown devices -Network controller. I have tried uninstalling reinstalling old and new drivers. I even bought a new 2915abg intel card and tried the same thing with that one... same result no wireless. I also can't get my verizon card or the linksys card to link to anything, but the system does seem to note when they are installed as I hear a beep. Any ideas? Model info below.
