X41 running XP and Dell E228WFP 22"

#1 Post by yaw_m » Mon Mar 24, 2008 7:41 am

Dear all,

I am new to your forum and learned a lot lurking around. I have a question regarding my x41. I have ordered a Dell E228WFP 22" for my office. I am wondering whether my graphics card (Intel915GM Express, I think) will support this monitor given its 1680x1050 resolution . And if not, what remedial steps I can take to fix the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Yes the X41 is capable of driving the WSXGA+ monitor via VGA connection. The maximum resolution for the Intel GMA 900 is QXGA (2048x1536) if I remember right.

Cheers,
Tony

I don't think the x41 support wide screen resolution in Windows XP. At least I haven't been able to do it on my dell 24 LCD.

Make sure that your video drivers are up to date, then it should be fine. You may have to set it manually in the display properties, found in the control panel. Works for me.

I agree with Sine. I have had my 22 Dell LCD for sometime now and it has been running well. I use my X41 with an X-4 docking module. Most of the time the docked machine automatically goes into the 1680*1050 resolution mode however on a few occasions I have had to manually set the resolution using the display properties.

Is this an X41 Tablet? Or just the normal X41? I have the normal X41 and wide screen is not an option. I downloaded the lastest driver from Lenovo. I'm tempted to try the driver for X41 tablet. I'm not sure if the x41 table and x41 the same chipset.
