Looking for advice please

I have been trying to avoid paying 150$ or so from IBM for a new battery and buying batterys from ebay. So far i have bought 2 batterys for roughly 24$ each and in under 4 monthes both have become defetive for one reason or another. Is there a retailer that sells X24 batterys at a reasonable price? I am willing to pay between 50-90$ for a good battery that i can expect to last for a year or so.

Didn't those batteries have any kind of warranty?

lol yes most ebayers give a 30 day warrenty and typically these batterys have lasted about 40-60 days. I can't explain it myself but i think its mostly the dam smart chip in the battery that is going bad. I would LOVE it if i could get ahold of those little boards and get myself a few new ones to put in these batterys that seem to have gone south just to see if its mostly a battery problem or a chip problem.

I learned that lesson the hard way.. if the battery doesn't have "IBM" written on it it's junk.

Yes the Chinese ones work, but for how long? The last non IBM replacement battery I bought for my T22 held a charge for about 2 hours, it stopped working after 9 months, I replaced it with a genuine IBM battery which regularly does 4.5 hours run time, I can't vouch for it's life as I've only had it 6 months, but for the runtime alone it was worth it..
