With the economic stimulus check coming and May being a 3 paycheck month for me, I'm going to be a tad "pocket heavy", so to speak, pretty soon here. I recently had to sell my X31, that I was given by my uncle, so I could pay off an old debt and get back in school. Now I want one again. (such little beauties)
I was just wondering, in terms of X31's, what could I expect to get for $500 (or about $460, if I get a brand new battery, or $420 if I get 2 new batteries, one for the laptop itself and one for the dock).
The only things I'd really like are a docking station, and maybe a 5400RPM HD. An ultraslim battery would be nice too (as I like to hang at the local book store A LOT and longer battery would be essential).
Anyway, what do you think i could expect at those prices?
Thanks in advance,
JP
EDIT: An upgrade of the wireless would be nice, but I can probably buy that separate at a later date and install it myself. Do you think it would be too much to ask at my price?
What to expect, X31

Welcome to the forum!
My suggestion would be to browse a bit through forum's Marketplace section, using the "search" function, and see what the prices are around here...but overall, you're on the right track.
X31 with fairly average specs and dock can be found anywhere between $350 and $400 depending on the condition, and it will likely have the wireless card already installed. That puts you right where you need to be regarding upgrading it to 5400rpm drive and buying new batteries...

Re: What to expect, X31
I'm in the situation you just got out of ... I've got an X31 I'm looking at selling for far less than $500.Lame-Skeptik wrote:With the economic stimulus check coming and May being a 3 paycheck month for me, I'm going to be a tad "pocket heavy", so to speak, pretty soon here.
