Help please. X24 not booting from hard drive

I have a x24 and i recently bought a CF to IDE adapter and had that running even installed xp to it (8 gig CF). This morning i powered it down and took the CF drive out and put the IDE drive back in. I was going to pull some files off it and store on my other CF card i have to then transfer over. Now i allways get pxe-e61 media test failure and pxe-m0f exiting pxe rom along with operating system not found. I get that message on both IDE and CF cards. I can boot from CD but i really need this to boot from IDE slot and i cant think of a correction other then replaceing the MB
