X22 with a LCD Issue

#1 Post by rckrchrdsn » Fri May 02, 2008 3:45 pm

I have an X22 that runs fine except for 8 vertical lines, irregularly spaced, toward the center of the LCD, showing from the time the thinkpad is turned on. Each line is a single color Red, blue, green, and pink, each line is always the same color and same position. Otherwise the rest of the screen is perfectly readable. Any ideas on what is wrong?

LCD is ruined. It's has bad connection inside by some reason but I highly doubt that it is repairable. I had this issue with my T23 few years ago and new LCD helped :)

there is a conductive rubber strip that attaches the active matrix panel to he substrate. it is losing contact in some areas. It is a very difficult fix requiring a CLEAN ROOM. You might be able to find someone really good who can handle that kind of repair, but the most common (and effective solution) is to get a new LCD.
