how to access bios on x31

hi i have an x31 bought second hand when i boot it says to press enter on ibm key if i do not wish to boot normaly but if i push either nothing happens

it has a aftermarket laptop and no recovery partition

how do i enter the bios ( what key push)?
and can anyone supply a set of recovery CDs thanks :cry:

When the IBM Thinkpad logo appears press F1.
