X31 memory problem

#1 Post by HAL9000 » Tue May 20, 2008 9:57 am

Just checking but I just bought a 1gb PC 2700 SODIMM for my X31. Ran memtest on it and got a load of errors and the machine won't boot into Linux/Windows with it in. Both slots are fine with the original 256mb dimms. My BIOS is from 03 (or is it 05). Do I need to do another BIOS update or is the SODIMM dead. I suspect the later but would like to make sure just in case.

BIOS shouldn't have anything to do with the ability of your machine to boot with that stick, so it sounds to me that you should return it to the seller...

Good luck.
