I have an X41, not a T41. Is the 1.8" drive in a standard form factor? what are my upgrade choices for that?

You don't have much of an upgrade option on X4x units...

All drives are 4200rpm, and the biggest one is 60Gb.

They're also out of production and change hands for $150 for a new one on eBay...

OK, that puts a completely different spin on things. First, you should either start a different thread or ask the moderator to move this one after revising the title to the X Series conference.

That being said, the X4x machines with the 1.8" PATA drives narrows your choices considerably! Apparently there aren't many manufacturers that built drives of that specification to start with. On top of which, the primary supplier (Hitachi) apparently has discontinued the line (not absolutely certain), so the supply is drying up. So, basically your search parameters narrows down to 1.8" PATA with the standard 44pin connector. You may end up left with eBay. I didn't see any on Newegg.

Looks like you'll have to go back to Fry's and return the 2.5" drive or sell it.
