Can X41 Accept 1 2GB RAM Module?

I read on a thread here that if i put in a 2GB RAM module, the computer will recognize total of 2 GB total regardless of how much on board RAM.

Example: If 512mb on board, it will recognize 1.5GB from the module for total of 2GB.

IS this true?

Yes. Apparently it recognizes the 2.5gb but only uses 2gb.

Now my question is can I buy DDR2 667 instead of DDR2 533, since 667 is cheaper? Will it work? Will it have some kind of unforeseen bottleneck?
