Does a X23 MB (with cript chip, no 1394) work in a X20 box ?
Recently picked up a cheap X23 MB (12P3803, factory refurbished by IBM)and it looks like I may be able to pickup a cheap and very dead X20, just wonder if anybody may know if the X23 MB will work in the X20 box. The X20 is very dead, so I will need to replace the LCD, which if works, will run somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 (X22/23 replacement LCD price at EBay). I will furnish my own HD, and I have PC133 memory in my "pile".. May be a fun project to do, IF it fits.. Thanks.
Ditto, please post if you make any progress
Yea, I would like to find out too. I have an X20 and if it ever dies, I would like to know what options I have. If I knew that an X23 or X22 motherboard were compatible. I would have more options. I can rely on someone else to be the guinea pig
