Is this x40 a good deal for 450$?

I'm thinking about getting an x40 thinkpad.

HDD issues aside, the fact that it's the lightest and best battery life wins hands down.

I saw this BIN on eBay for 450$ + 25$ shipping

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :IT&ih=017

it includes...

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 Laptop

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 X4 UltraBase Docking Station (new)

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 High Capacity Battery

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 24x CDRW/DVD Combo Drive (new)

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 AC Adapter (worldwide compatibility)

· (1) IBM Thinkpad X40 Operating System Recovery CD (backup)

Since it's a "store" i'm assuming everything works well. should i go for it?

I did some extra calculations and it would actually cost me around 525$ when i add in the conversation from USD to CAD with shipment and tax.

anyone?

That seems a little high - I got my 1.5Mhz x40 without the recovery disk for $319.00

You can find lower if you wait or look harder. Also if you sign up for a microsoft live.com cashback account, you can get 25% back on a Buy It Now ebay auction.

I paid about $400 for mine, though no cd/dvd drive on the ultrabase. Mine is almost in mint condition. The only signs of use are my own smudges on the screen and the 2 stickers on the bottom that state it has been wiped clean of sensitive data.

Not a good deal whatsoever.

Check the Marketplace here, and often. People had these machines on sale for less, and you are buying from trusted members.

And no, I don't have one for sale-or anything similar for that fact...
