Help!!! ... I can't play dvds on my docking station

#1 Post by Henry_Sculler » Thu Aug 07, 2008 11:18 pm

Hi All -

Thanks in advance for helping me. Here's my problem:

1. Running x31 w/xp pro. In the past, I could use the cd/dvd drive in my dock station and read/write to cds and play dvds. Now it appears that the cds and dvds are not recognized by windows.

2. I think the media software to read/write cds and play dvds were deleted or corrupted when my son was playing around on my thinkpad.

3. I downloaded Windows Media Player 10 but when I double-click on the mp10setup icon:
- it appears to extract the files
- and at the user license agreement screen, when I click on the <I Accept> button, nothing happens!!!

In fact, nothing happens when I click on either <I Decline> or
<I Accept> buttons. I have to click on the top right corner of screen to exit install process.

4. Now what do I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you still have a factory installation, and haven't deleted the folder to gain a little space, everything you need to install should be in c.\ibmtools\apps e.g. dvdplay etc.
