Can I use a T30 power supply on my X40?
I know the volltage is different since the CPU on my T30 is a P4 while the X40 has a Centrino 1.4.
Any input guys?

The T30 originally should have been supplied with a 72 watt (16V 4.5A) power supply. The X40 came with a 56 watt (also 16V but 3.36A). Double check the labels on the bottom of each system for what IBM says is the maximum current they might require; they should match these figures.
You can use the T30 supply to power the X40 but I would not advise running the T30 with the X40 supply. Assuming that the voltage is identical between laptops, you can always run a system with a supply that is rated at a higher power (amperage) but you should never trying running a system with a supply that provides a lower amount of current than what is says on the laptop's label.
The voltages of the CPU is irrelevant to the AC adapter. Each laptop has their own internal power regulators which provides the proper voltages for the CPU and other circuits on the motherboard.
