First post here, this site is an excellent resource.
I have an X32, (2.0 GHz 1GB RAM, 60GB disc, docking pad) which has a display that runs for about 30 seconds, then goes black. I replaced the backlight and the inverter board with new ones, so I know they are both good. (It's not fun changing out the backlight on these, but I did it with just a couple dust specs.)
What I'm confused by is the fact that after I replaced the backlight, and I replaced the inverter board, the screen still doesn't stay lit for more than about 30 seconds, suggesting that they were not the problem to begin with. Once it goes black, it stays black until the machine has been off for a good long time. The external VGA port works fine on the dock and the back of the machine.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Is this something that could be related to the ribbon cable? Or is this something that suggests that a system boar is in my future?

-Ted
