Hi,
I really enjoy my X31, but find it a little noisy when plugged on A/C. I noticed that the battery maximizer wizard allows to choose CPU speed, but only if running on batteries.
On Lenovo website, they say that no software is needed to control CPU speed, because such a feature is included in the OS. I can't find it.
I've read people use NHC (notebook hardware control). I'm just looking for an easy way to make my laptop run at lower CPU speed when plugged, in order to lower fan rpms. What tool should I use ?
Thanks

Re: Lower CPU speed when on A/C
If I click on the little green battery on the taskbar and select Maximum battery life my X32 runs at 600MHz on AC and never steps up. I immediately turn up the brightness of the LCD, and I'm all set. For flash movies on youtube it's a little jittery though.quinndexter wrote:Hi,

Re: Lower CPU speed when on A/C
I'm pretty sure you can change it by creating a new power scheme. None of the default schemes have the CPU set to "adaptive." I like having mine set to adaptive both on and off the AC. This allows the CPU to run at low speed (low heat, low fan) until more processing power is needed. That's why speedstep was invented, right?quinndexter wrote:Hi,
