How do I disable dual monitor output on x40?

#1 Post by aceo07 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 3:31 pm

My x40 always go into dual monitor output when I close the lid and reopen it. I'm using windows xp.

How do I disable this from happening? I rarely use dual monitor and I definitely prefer to control when it goes to dual monitor option.

The main reason is that dual monitor output sucks about 0.5watts.. I want to save power if I can.

Go into BIOS>configuration>display and adjust it there.

When it boots up, it defaults to just single lcd. It's only when it's powered on and lcd closes and reopens that it goes into dual monitor mode. I just wanted to clarify that.

I will check the BIOS when I go home.

I found the display settings in the BIOS, however it only related to the output during bootup.

Try "control-alt-F3" to change it back to 1024x768.

This recently started happening to me. I wonder if its related to a "windows update"?
Fortunately, I don't need to use Windows much.
