Looking for smallest USB powered CD/DVD burner for X31.

#1 Post by Stu » Mon Jan 17, 2005 1:33 pm

I'm looking to pickup a USB CD/DVD burner for my X31 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I would like to find one that does not need it's own power supply, at least for reading.

Also, is it true that the X40 only has 1 powered USB port but both of the X31's USB ports are powered?

There is a nice drive from www.freecom.com with a built in battery. It will run without a power supply using just one USB port.

[censored] expensive though....for that, I'd be tempted to buy the DVD-RW I want and put it in my own external case. If size is of most importance to you, maybe, but if I were a X30 or 31 owner I'd probably go for the Ultrabase and get the drive that fits the Ultrabay2000 in it.

www.lacie.com
www.targus.com

They have some of the smallest, lightest drives I have seen.
Anything from a CD reader only to a DVD burner.
