Systemboard transplant from X32 to X31. Is it possible?

Hi there,

I would like to get advise about changing mainboard in my Thinkpad X31. Can you tell me will it be possible to mount mainboard from X32 in X31. Is it technically possible or maybe there are more problems with transplant these systemboards?

Yes this is possible. X32 uses a Dothan processor and requires PC2700 memory.

You may also be concerned about the plastics. I know the side ports for the X30 vary from the x31, not sure about the x32.

No problems for the X31 and X32 as they use identical bases (magnesium) and plastics. The change was between the X30 and X31.
