Fresh Windows XP install. can't get wireless drivers to work

#1 Post by TheRedFox » Thu Feb 26, 2009 11:16 am

I downloaded the Cisco drivers from lenovo's website and ran the installer and then went into the folder and ran IWSetup.exe from there. Nothing has shown up in the network connections folder, however, even after reboot. any ideas? for the time being I have a Compaq wireless PC card, but it doesn't have WPA encryption, so it'd be very useful to get the internal wireless up.

I wonder if you have to activate the internal wireless in BIOS as well as Fn+F5. I ran into the same problem with Bluetooth in an X41. I had the card, I had the drivers but nothing worked until I activated Bluetooth in Network settings in BIOS.

Oh wow. i figured it out! I tried installing the wrong drivers earlier, so All I had to do was go into device manager, and try to install drivers. I have and everything seems working.
I feel dumb
