I don't know what to do

Long time lurker and first time poster. My X41 gave up the ghost last week. I know it's the mobo after searching previous post for the same problem It wont power on anymore, but the fan runs. I was running ultimate ubuntu on it and it was a beautiful think. Alas all good thinks must come to an end. My dilemma is get another used X41 or get a netbook. I have the docking station with the dvd burner and the extended battery not to mention the 2 gig of memory, so if I get another X41 I can still use that stuff. Then again the newer netbooks run just as good if not better than the X41 for a few bucks more. I will miss Ubuntu but I can install it on a netbook. I just don't know.

If I liked the machine as much as you liked your X41, I'd be looking for a new motherboard.

I agree, the X41 is tough to beat, especially since you can get a fixer upper, with an OK MB, for next to nothing!
You already have all the spare parts you'll need.

Yeah I been keeping my eye out for another x41. I will just pop in my hard drive and pick up where I left off.
