Length of X40 battery reconditioning process?
Length of X40 battery reconditioning process?
I decided to try the Battery Maximizer's "reconditioning" feature on my 8-cell X40 battery this morning. Clicked on the "Start reconditioning battery" at around 11:00 am this morning, saw the extra "recondition" icon appear next to the systray battery icon, and left for work. Got back earlier this evening, and now it is 9:00 pm...10 hours later, and the Maximizer's window is still up, and the button still reads "Stop Battery Reconditioning". Does that imply it is still running? How long do I need to leave this running? I'd like to use my laptop again soon.

I think there might be a bug in the Battery Maximizer app. The button that changes from "Start Battery Reconditioning" to "Stop Battery Reconditioning" is supposed to switch back when it is done, but it doesn't. However, the little "reconditioning" systray icon does go away when it has done a full discharge and recharge cycle.
I'm still looking into exactly what happened, and will post some screenshots later.

on a 8 cell bat takes alot to recondition it! ALOT! also depends in what stage of the bat will start. to process has to be sure that first the bat is full, then will discarge it fully then charge it again. so basically for each step is needed something like 5 hrs...so if you decide to reconditnion when the bat is only 5% for ex you'll have 15hrs ahead ! but relax in the charging process (1st stept out of 3) you can still work on laptop, after that you should'n touch it...dont know why but i know you shouldnt!
with 4 cell bat the process is only mat of 6 hrs...but what to do, bigger battery (which i bet you're verry happy in train or plane) require more waiting time...
