appreciate your feedback since I can't really find anything through a search.

It varies widely based on condition and features. X40's ranged from Banias 1.0 GHz to Dothan 1.5GHz, 20GB to 60GB drives, 256MB to 1.5GB memory, 4 cell and 8 cell batteries, docks, DVD, combo drive or DVD burner. LCD condition is very important, many developed pressure marks.

So, I'd say complete basic machines in average condition from $125 and complete higher end machines with good LCD's and extra accessories as much as $300.

I'd say $180-200 for the well-spec'd units in good working order with no issues and strong battery, and sky is the limit for the ones upgraded with a SSD...

Do bear in mind that a mint condition LCD is somewhat rare on these, and will likely command a premium.

For what it's worth, I got my refurbished X40 (2371-8EU) from Compuvest for USD 249 in July. Mind you, that's nearly one tenth of the original USD 2,249 list price.
It' s a truly fabulous laptop. Worth every penny paid. Thanks, IBM
