Welcome to the forum.

You need the device drivers for them. Look for the devices under Device Manager in Control Panel. Follow the installation instructions.

I have the drivers, but they are not showing up in the device manager. It's really weird, everything else does, but no ethernet or w-lan.

Did you go to C:\Drivers and run Setup to install? This is the final and necessary step.

I did. When you try to run the driver's setup it says it can't complete because it no ethernet card is installed. It is acting like I physically removed the card.

In the Control Panel Device list, do you get any unknown devices with yellow question marks?

Open the bottom cover, make sure the WiFi card is seated correctly. The X40 ethernet NIC is soldered down so there is not much you can do to get it working again.

I have the same problem but I do have the yellow question marks under Other Devices in the Device manager.

Two say Unknown device and one says Network Controller.

What should I do?

If the wired ethernet is working, then that network device with the yellow question mark is the WiFi card. Enter your Type and Model number on the lenovo support web page and fine the WiFi card type in your computer, intel or IBM. Then find your driver from instructions in the 2nd post of this thread.
