Hi,
Bought my X301 Elite two weeks ago and am *so* happy with it! Performs will, feels good, lots of nice features!
I have Bitlocker enabled. I've used Bitlocker a lot in the past. Funny thing though, it doesn't ask for a password/fingerprint on bootup. So how does it start to decrypt? I only asks for a fingerprint/password when logging in.
I looked into the bios settings. Some settings allow bootup and disc password, but only a password, not a fingerprint.
My T60 used to take a fingerprint on bootup (right at the start). My Acer required a USB key with the bitlocker key (as there was no TPM) on bootup. My X301 does not. The only reason I can think is that it is something to do with the X301 having a solid state drive.
I hope my system is actually secure! Maybe the decryption starts at the Windows login screen?
I am running x64 Vista Ultimate. It is a fresh, non-factory install. I installed Vista, then used System Update to get drivers/tools. Did not install Client Security Solution.
No fingerprint/password when booting bitlocker encrypted dri
