Still, if I were you I still would give it a try...

I've installed Win7 RC on an R50 using 1.5.GB with excellent results (I had to give up Aero, no big deal). Granted, it was only for my dad to surf an email only. But I found Win7 to be faster and more user friendly than XP (my dad is 83 and can get around very good with it, go figure...)

I was just thinking I would also try it in my X41 as well, (just for fun after some weeks I would go back again to Ubuntu).

Hope this helps...

Cheers

@ Tasurinchi

Why not double-boot (I do w/ Win 7 and Ubuntu)? That way you'll have both to choose from. At least until the machine starts intermittently shutting off. The last month I believe you can use the RC is next year in March. That's when MS will begin sending out reminders via a controlled machine shutdown with message to purchase Windows 7.

lol. It seems a little strange but true from the Microsoft Website.

btw I absolutely love Ubuntu and can't wait for Karmic to officially be released!

Well I think it's just a matter of taste. I love my X41 and do not want to *cough* *cough* ruin it *cough* *cough* :BAAAD!:

I also can't wait for Karmic... My X31 bootet in 45 second and they said Karmic will be even faster!
