X21 2662-P2G:with xga screen doesn't power on,with svga yes

i was tired of the original SVGA LCD screen 800x600 and so i bought a complete lid screen with XGA 1024x768 panel for X22 from ebay in order to option listed here : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4UTL7B
the LCD screen works, i tried on a X24 and on a X22!
but when i put it in the X21...it doesn't power on...no sigh of life! if i swap with the original SVGA LCD screen ...it power on and all works fine and normally!
why???
how can i use a XGA panel on X21?
what i have to do?
memory : 320 gb, o.s. XP sp3

X20 and X21 are compatible. Look for a XGA screen from these.

so i assume that X22 lcd panel is not compatible?
i used the entire lcd lid ...if i disassembly the panel from cover lid..can i use with X21 the X22 panel?

May be the LCD is close enough. Try a X20/X21 XGA cable.

i disassemblyed both lid, the XGA for X22 and the SVGA for X21; i was astonished how much different they were! the x21 lcd has the inverter on top , the x22 on bottom, the x21 has the screw orizonthal to the cover lid instead the x22 verthical , the lcd connector is on left side in x21 and in rear in the x22...i think it's an impossible mission..or not?

You can make X22-24 LCD work with X20-21 by using X20-21 LCD cable and inverter but it's a next to impossible to get cables fitted inside the LCD case.

Much easier to sell the X22-24 LCD lid and buy LCD panel (+XGA cable) from X20-21.
